*Play Date*

We took Nova to the breeder's for a play-date --most of the bitches were in heat but it didn't seem to have too much of an effect. Nova loved playing with Sam and Macho, and even got to see her mom, Carma. Carma loved Nova's Wubba, & we can definitely tell Nova is her momma's pup. We had a good time!!

Rainy Day

Horses, Cows, Chickens & Ducks! OH MY!!

Josh and Nova came to the Farm with me this morning!! Nova got to see the ducks, and didn't even bark at them, the ducks were hungry so they mostly just cared about getting their corn, but Nova could easily hurt one if she decided to go play with one. Right now she seems more curious and cautious than bold. When she met the chickens she barked and scared them back into the barn. She also met 2 ponies, she barked at them at first, but then as Josh and Nova went closer she started to calm down. I think she was just surprised to see an animal bigger than her!! It's really funny to watch Nova watch the other animals, she barks at them as if to say "OMG!! do you see what I see!! LOOK LOOK" She definitely has watchdog in her blood! When she saw the cows, she was overwhelmed because there were just so many of them. They all came up to get their food while I was putting their feed in their trough, and Nova was just whining and freaking out! Josh had to take her for a small walk in the other direction to get her to calm back down. Overall I think it was a good experience for her and she did good for her first time.

First Visit to Lake Lynn

This morning I took Nova out for a long walk to Lake Lynn. Nova has been barking quite a bit at other people and dogs around the neighborhood and needs some practice with being a bit more polite around other dogs and people. Lake Lynn usually has quite a few dogs and lots of people, even early in the morning. It also has geese and ducks, which Nova hasn't seen yet.

When we got to the lake, Nova saw a couple other dogs and barked for a few minutes... but she soon got over it and actually did really well on the walk! She got to meet and sniff several other dogs, and was really well behaved around other dogs - most of the time not even pulling towards them when they passed, and no barking! We definitely need to go there more often, it's a great place for meeting strangers and other dogs. We also need to get her some off leash time with other well-behaved dogs, but are somewhat wary of the dog park.
